Sleet, snow, or wind could not keep us from you

We headed home Monday and decided to pull off on the road side rest to avoid the snow, we didn’t think to bring chains!

After a long 12 hour drive from Utah we made it home and put our baby to bed.  The winds coming across the dessert were 60 mph...I didn’t take a picture, I think we were to scared.  You didn’t dare open your car door for fear it would be torn off.






John bought himself a Veterans Hat in Yuma and has hardly taken it off, his favorite.

Oh your a Vet, let me give you the discount, and on, and on it goes to the tune for $53.00 that hat saved us in parking fees at Niagra Falls, The Ford Assembly plant, Bobs Clam Hut.  I was shocked how many people took note of his hat!

What a bridge and no toll?  The other side of the coin,  we paid $52.60 in tolls to get home and that does not include the “surprise” bill we will receive in the mail for the electronic just read the plate send you the bill later tolls.  




It was a great trip, we really enjoyed ourselves and felt God’s protection and presence during our adventures.  Thank you for coming with us, The Lord Bless you and keep you!  Love Mom and Dad, John and Shannon 💕

New favorite place

We never thought to go to Arches Nat’l Park, it is Beautiful!





Like driving through the Grand Canyon.  Separate bike path too!
128 follows the Colorado River,  class I, II and III depending on the time of year.  Definitely coming back with the kayaks.
Nice visitors center with 15 minute movie.  


Picked up a book for John.  There are 5 National parks  In Southern Utah, can you name them? We couldn’t 🤓

It started snowing on the 70, we pulled over and spent the night in a rest area.  This is May, right?

Surprise

Look who we found.  Our change in routes took us right through Denver.  We have to see Juliana and Jacki, Jed’s Neice’s.
We called Jed’s mom Joan, and they were headed out to church. We caught up with them there.
Actually we were the ones surprised, the girls had spent the night with Grandma!  We enjoyed their company over blueberry pancakes and hot chocolate!
We got to see Randy too, he was teaching Sunday School.  He did show us his new knees, giving thanks and praise to God.  
Our next rig?  Coming into arches National Park via 128.  We are driving the loop, thanks Lynne and Bob, we never knew.  😊

Wait, there’s more!

We went to church Saturday night in Ogallala NE, my Dad’s home town.
This is School house number five where my dad’s two brothers and sister went all 12 grades.  My grandma moved to Chula Vista when my dad was in 11th grade.
This is the location of my dads house looks like they’ve done some work in their cornfield.
They had A 300 acre wheat farm that was sold about 10 years ago.
Looks like we dodged a bullet we came through on Saturday (18th) but heard that there were over 40 tornado sightings in Nebraska on Friday😳

Mall of America

We made it! Thanks to whoever told us to park at IKEA, you were right!
What not to do when you first get to the mall.  Do not do the BMW drive simulator, it will make you so sick🤮
452 stores, good hang out place in the winter.
We went into only one of the 452... we have not had a chance to do laundry so we just bought a few things to get us home.  No laundry mat at the mall of America.
We did buy a pretzel to settle our stomachs before doing the flyover America.  This is similar to Disneyland’s Soaring.  Very fun and we did not get sick😊

Thumbs Up,  nothing like it!  Well we think that’s it.  A whirlwind tour of Some states we haven’t seen.  We will be heading home, only 2000 miles to go😳 please remember us in your prayers.  Thanks and Love💕 If there is anything worthy I will post.

Nice walking trail along the river that empties into the Mississippi.  The start of the Mississippi is about 200 miles north at lake Itasca.

Pabst Blue Ribbon brewery, no drinking at 10 in the morning, tours start at 5.
Electric car “The Hop”  touring Milwaukee, yes the sidewalk is a little damp.
To the Wisconsin Dells and a ride on the Army Duck.
Michagan River with the sandstone rock formations of the Dells. Overnight at a road side rest.  On to the Twin Cities.
